Welcome to our Travel Africa Overland website
We are Roel and Susanne and started with our Africa overland trip in October 2015 in Cape town, South Africa. We made our way back through Africa, the Middle East, Western Asia, Europe back to the Netherlands. We’d love to get in contact with fellow overlanders!
Our route
In Africa we have traveled with our ’91 Toyota LandCruiser 75 series (yes indeed, it is a Buschtaxi, a Troopcarrier or a Troopy) from South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia to Sudan. From Sudan we took a ferry to Saudi Arabia. In the Middle East we drove through Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Oman. We took another ferry from Dubai to Iran and from Iran we made our way to western Asia (Georgia, Armenia, Turkey) and back to Europe. Check our track page to see the complete route.
